The side stones are 0.30 carat purply-pink rhodolite garnets, cut into fancy baguettes. It's not quite an emerald cut, missing one round of facets on the crown. Ours is from Sri Lanka, which produces much of the today's gemstone quality chrysoberyl.

It's also generally fairly clean, as is the stone presented here. It's an extremely hard (right up there with topaz and garnet), bright stone that comes in a range of unusual yellows, browns and greens. Chrysoberyl is, in our humble opinion, sadly underused. Here, we've set the center with a 3.6 carat chrysoberyl - yellow with a nice green undertone.

But melting stuff like this - classic, well-made and durable styles - doesn't really sit right, so lately we've been trying out unexpected colored stones in place of diamonds to create cool cocktail rings and nontraditional engagement rings. We don't really use them very much for engagement rings since most of our engagement ring business is made-to-order. We have a lot of these settings - the result of customers upgrading to bigger stones or putting their stones in different settings. Explore these delicate styles featuring VRAI created diamonds and discover how less is more when it comes to each setting. This is a classic mid-century three-stone setting intended for a 3.5 carat emerald-cut diamond and two side baguettes. With minimal gold and thoughtfully-chosen details, simple engagement ring settings with lab-grown diamondscan be subtle and impactful at the same time. “Classics will never go out of style and focus on beautifully displaying your VRAI diamond, allowing for an endless possibility of wedding band combinations.” “When shopping for something so timeless like an engagement ring, I always advise my clients to follow their personal style and keep in mind that they are shopping for something that will be treasured for their lifetime,” says Camilla Vendrame, VRAI’S West Coast Regional Manager and Melrose Showroom Manager. While some express their love through big and bold engagement ring styles, others prefer the enduring elegance of a simple engagement ring. When you and your partner make the decision to buy an engagement ring, it’s important to follow your heart, not trends.
